Making Math Approachable
Life is full of mathematics. Every interest has a mathematic relationship. It’s how a rocket gets to the moon, why a summer lemonade stand is profitable, and what blue to green ratio makes the perfect shade of aqua. We believe that math isn’t for some; it’s for everyone. By tapping into elementary school students’ passions, we can help them engage with math in a whole new way. It’s more than a worksheet of numbers; it’s real life; it’s tangible; and it’s fascinating!

Traveling Through New Doors
Different cultures, landscapes, languages, and ideas encompass our planet. Experiencing new environments can inspire teens to think and dream outside the routines and norms in which they live every day. As they’re beginning to plan their future, we’d like to expand their mindset through travel. Whether they’re seeing shop signs in a different language, a dense forest of trees and wildlife, ancient buildings steeped in history, or gleaming skyscrapers filled with innovation, we want to spark in them a new sense of what’s possible.

Connecting the Pieces to Success
After high school is college, as the story goes. Yet for many, the path feels like a round peg in a square hole. At the community level, we want to re-imagine the path to a college degree and a career. We believe an integrated academic and vocational post-secondary approach can do better for students not currently well-served by the traditional academic path. In turn, communities can also better match the skills students learn with those required for local jobs.
